CHALLENGES AND STRATEGIES OF LOCAL COMPANIES’ TO ENTRY THE GLOBAL MARKET

In Cambodia the most industrial sectors are still young in terms of producing and the trend has just shifted slowly to expanding to the global market. How do local companies assess the impact of their undertaken strategies to deal with challenges they encounter in their bid to enter the global market? To answer the research questions, a qualitative method of research involving in-depth interview with eight representatives from the goods and services sectors of business.

Findings are that; Local companies in both the goods and services sectors face the challenges related to legal requirements, competition, partnership, acceptability of goods and services and the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on these finding, it is recommended that relevant government ministries provide the necessary policy and programmatic that local businesses establish support system or mechanisms to ensure that there is internal support for local businesses aiming to go global.
